

Jaewoo Kim
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jaewoo Kim completed his Master of Performance in Voice at the Royal College of Music in London and Bachelor of Music and post-graduate diploma at the Australian National University after graduating from Seoul Arts High School. He won many prestigious awards including the Metropolitan Opera Award in 1996, the McDonald's Operatic Aria Competition in 2000 and Australian Singing Competition. He was also awarded a commendation by the Prime Minister of South Korea. Jaewoo joined Opera Australia in 1996, became a principal singer in 1998, and held that position until 2006. ,He then performed extensively across the UK and Europe, taking on leading roles with English National Opera, Opera Holland Park, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. After returning to Australia in 2013, he has been involved with Opera Queensland, New Zealand Opera, and the Sydney Philharmonia. His additional concert engagements include major works with the Sydney Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Jaewoo is an academic at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and also teaches vocal students at Excelsia College and teaches privately at his studio, J Kim Vocal Studio.
